An interview with Winemaker, Kailee Frasch
Although harvest is wildly known as the most exciting time of the grape-growing year, spring is also a time of great excitement. After months (and sometimes years) of care and attention, wines are shuttled from barrel to bottle and dressed to be released. We recently caught up with Winemaker, Kailee Frasch to learn more about some of the new releases she can’t wait for you to try.
Is there a wine you are most excited about releasing this season?
“I am not always one to play favourites but the 2022 Lucy’s Block Rosé is a wine I am very excited about. With less than one hour of skin contact time, this blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is fresh, aromatic, and textural. Rosé is a wine that shines alongside a platter of oysters or a simple summer salad but the elegance and depth of this release make this vintage of Lucy’s a wine that shines all on its own.“
Are there any Distinction wines you are particularly excited about?
“Our Distinction Collection offers such a fun combination of varieties, clones, rootstocks and winemaking techniques. Like the pattern of a quail’s egg of which no two are alike, each batch of wine is unique and bottled in small lots so that kind of makes them all exciting.“
